Race night #2. Temps in the high 20s, clear. Snow was a little scratchy, but still pretty good. I was super low energy, starting to feel a bit of sick coming on. Not great. Got to the hill a bit late, so didn't get a chance to take a good warmup run before jumping into the gate.
Overall, I skied okay, but no energy. Pivoted a bit at the bottom of the pitch, just not enough guts or power to lay the ski up and arc it. Fast courses and quick tempo really didn't help matters. That said, I ended up 8 on the day, which given the field (a new crop of kids right out of college), is respectable. I was only a couple of tenths off of Andrew, so I think the skiing was okay. I'll need to clean up the starts (I was scratchy with my skating) and just pin it cleanly to be successful. But I have the speed in me for sure.
