Sunny, temps warming from 10F to 20F. Lane on lower Switchback for some stubbies - late change, was expecting for drills at the Basin. Was able to borrow some shinguards and it all worked out.
Snow was spectacular, and even better after the sun started to hit the hill around 0930.
Two sections of stubbies - relatively open on the top flat (~16 gates) then a pretty combo-happy section at the bottom. Overall, skied quite well on the '18 SLs, especially up top, working on keeping low in transition. On the bottom section, I struggled being able to bend the ski on the first few (slow) open gates, which set me up late running into the combos. I made it about 70% of the time, but it was overall pretty good.
Pretty happy with how I'm skiing right now. Hope we can get into full SL gates or GS soon - I've always found stubbies a bit awkward.
