Sunny becoming cloudy; temps around 40 at the base. Met up with Marty, Oleg, and their friend Marko and generally had a great time. Started off with runs of Chet's and 6 before heading up Ptarmigan, down South Chutes (okay), and up 9. Took a run on a wind-deposited skiers left of super bowl (very good), then we went as far skiers left as they'd let us for a really sweet run on a soft North Star, depositing us at the top of 4. From there, we headed over to 8, and had a run on Hook 'em Horns (great up top, then pretty manky), and then through the woods (pretty icy). After that, came ripping down the groomer under 8 (perfect corn) for a bit of a rest and chat at the warming hut. Then, traversed back over to 9, eventually meeting up with the lowest of the North Chutes, which was a bit manky.
Back up 9 for a couple runs down Super Bowl a little bit farther skiers right (about as far as we could go without hiking). Really smooth, a bit of rock dodging, and generally really pretty fun. It was super windy up on the ridge, and made riding the lift pretty sketchy and waiting up there for everyone to gather pretty miserable.
After that, did some cruising with Marty, starting with a ripper down Bennett's Bowl to the bottom to say bye to Oleg and Marko. Then a lap on Mambo, and then over to 6 for a run skiers left before heading back to Ptarmigan for another ripper down Bennett's Bowl. Finished off with a run down Mambo. Really started to feel better on the ungroomed, able to be fairly aggressive, but still not feeling great in the bumps.
On the groom, really skiing well. Super fun.
