Sunny becoming cloudy, temps near 50. Long day on the hill, on snow from 930-330. E100s. Started over on 8, ripping groomer, before heading back to Ptarmigan and 6 when I hoped it was softening. Started to really rip. Ran into Bill and Ed Green, which was fun for a few runs. Around noon, headed up 9 to Jelly Roll—pretty crusty. Continued to lap groomers, testing the off-groom occasionally.
Clouds started to move in, and I ran into Marty (and Marko & Masha). We headed up 9 and to the cat. True flat light down Field of Dreams and then over to skiers left, coming out just left of 8. Snow up top was pretty rough, but not terrible. At the bottom it was windblown and actually pretty good.
Down Hook em Horns (surprisingly good) and then back to 9 for another try at Jelly Roll. Still not great but I skied it pretty aggressively and it worked out.
Unfortunately, lost a pole basket. Sigh.
Wrapped with a few groomer cruisers.
Super fun day.
