Mostly overcast, occasional flurries, with a few moments of sun. Temps in the 10s to low 20s. Just a glorious day of skiing.
Started off with a run on Mt Standish, which was short but filled with soft turns. Then headed up Lookout Mtn for a while. Longer runs, more bumps than soft fresh, but really fun skiing.
After a bit, headed over to the third mountain, Goats Eye. Supposedly the most challenging lift, and it was really fun there too. Steeper, bumps and soft snow, trees. Took a couple runs in the south chutes which skied well but I did find a couple rocks. Really fun.
Headed in for lunch, then met some skitalk folks for more fun in the afternoon. Slightly more relaxed pace, but laps on Goats Eye for a while before a few runs in Teepee Village (another aspect of Lookout) effort skiing all the way to the bottom.
Great snow, powder for the first real time all year, and even better views all day. What a start to a trip.
