Deer Valley, Utah

Skied Deer Valley with @cbk yesterday. While the conditions weren't what I woudl hoped for, 15" of light Utah fluff, I could see why people like Deer Valley. Yes, they passes are expensive but the day tickets are better than most areas, $120 for a day ticket. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced compared to the local competition next door, a hot chocolate was $3.30 (with marshmallows and whip cream) where Vail is over $6.00 and still no marshmallows. The terrain is expansive and while there was not a huge amount if steeps and chutes (there is still some) there are enough trees and bumps that would keep me happy. Everyone was friendly and even though they lift lines weren't bad, they still had someone in the mazes controlling the traffic. I did see the first pair of Vist skis I had in a while, and the guy was actually skiing them. Also saw more pairs of Daleboots that I have in the past 10 years total along with a couple of pairs of Wayne Wong's Legend skis..the first ones that i saw, that were not actually on Wayne's feet.
