I'm unclear on how long I've been doing it, but skiing on my birthday has become something of a regular occurrence/tradition. In keeping with said tradition, I motivated myself out of bed and into the wilderness to secure some b-day turns. After two previously successful excursions out on Forest Service Road 86, I returned to hit up a sizable set of patches adjacent to the chutes I'd skied earlier. I was a little worried about snow conditions as it had rained the day before, but the stuff I skied was pretty decent; a little soggy in spots, a few air pockets here and there, but overall solid spring conditions. I banged out 3 runs for a total number of turns equal to the number of years I've been alive. Apres skiing I 4x4'd around a bit checking out some potential future ski spots.
