October Patch, Roundtop Lake, Carson Pass, CA

Semi-spur-of-the-moment apres work schuss resulted in me hooking up with Stev and the two of us banging out 6 patches in roughly 4 hours. Quite possibly the last hurrah (at least for me) in regards to the area as things are melting fast and upcoming commitments (mostly work!) will prevent returning sooner. Still, I arrived at the Patches around 4:30 (making good time on 89 around the westend of LT considering all the construction) and spent an hour hiking around looking at hidden swatches of snow and whatnot. Stev arrived somewhere around 5:30 and we decided to brave the Wages of Fear road up to the Divide where we scored 5 fun patches, including the Luniz Lake Patch (so named because we both got 5 on it). We ended the evening with a coupla laps on "The Middle Patch". The snow on all the patches was surprisingly smooth, and, as always, we collected beta for next season.
