Day 2 of Avy 1. Extremely cold. We tromped around a bit near Bear Lake, made observations, and dug a pit, which confirmed CAIC bulletin. I wore an enormous number of layers plus boot gloves with toe warmers stuck to them - and was actually pretty darn warm, with comfy feet, despite much standing around and talking. Wonder of wonders. Had my second fall of the season, avoiding a tree while trying to ski with skins still attached. F that.
Oh - and I did a kick turn where I didn't feel like a complete incompetent. Gotta start somewhere, right?
