GS Race for the Q athletes. Had 5 here today. Temps in the low teens to mid-20s. Day started out partly sunny, but quickly transitioned to windy and absolutely dumping snow. Inverness was a complete sheet of ice on the top pitch, but the second pitch and flats were pretty reasonable. Course sets were super easy and straightforward, which is probably a blessing for a field of nearly 230.

Race took forever, but our kids did okay. Because of the blowing snow, they moved the start to the top of the first pitch for second run, making the second run about 15 sec faster than the first. That said, because the surface was so slippery ... lots of carnage.

I got to take a couple of free runs during the second run, and the snow off the course was pretty spectacular. I even found some nice untracked stuff a couple of inches deep, which was super fun to ski on. The SLs get a little bit of float if you ski it right. Super fun.

Didn't get off the hill until 4:15. Really long day, then a super slow drive back to Q in the snowstorm.
