Quechee Ski Hill, Vermont
Sunday, December 29, 2019
Colder than the previous few days - temps starting out in the low 20s and rising to the low 30s. Day started pretty sunny, but clouds moved in around lunchtime - supposedly going to snow tonight.
In the AM, we set some relatively open (~10.5 m) brushes on the top of face - just 15 turns. Surface was ... a bit sketchy, but there was a good hard layer underneath that we were able to get to. I took about 6 runs - 2 were good, 2 were bad, and 2 were okay. The new boots flex pretty nicely, and when I'm on the front of the ski, they are really coming around well. It'd probably help to sharpen my skis.
After that, we did some freeskiing. Snow was generally pretty awful - sugar on top of a hard layer. They must have groomed right before opening, because it did get decently cold last night, so it could/should have set up if given time.
Supposedly snow coming in. We'll see what we get on the hill tomorrow.
