Sunny, bluebird skies, temps rising from the low 30s to the mid-40s at the base while I skied from 9-1. No new snow, so the E88s were the ticket. First lap, ran into Frank Taft from Eldora, and we made a couple laps on Ptarmigan (excellent snow) before we found Mel. Then a couple laps off 6 before I split to try and find some softer stuff. Made my way to 8 and ripped the groomer—phenomenal grippy snow up top, and starting to corn up on the bottom flat. After that, took a few laps over on Hook ’em Horns … some aspects really fun and corny, others were ripply, hard, and grabby. Still, really fun. Headed back to 4 and then up 9. Took three laps up there—Castle Rock, Jelly Roll, and the gate 2 rope line. All were ok…some soft, some challenging. Last lap had a lot of people being dumb on the traverse so I decided I was done being up there. Finished up with several laps on Ptarmigan and 6 making big fast arcs. Super fun day.
