With the usual unmarked logging road blocked by no less than 2 different trees we were forced into a long approach. Add to that the fact that there was quite a large amount of snow still on the ground and the approach, which normally takes about 45-minutes, turned into some Gilligan's Island type bush (and snow) whacking on the glorious tip. In the few years that I've been hiking/skiing Lola, I've never seen this much snow up there. Banged out two laps on the Lola ridgeline and then hit up a chute back towards Independent Lake (there's never been snow in this chute this late in the season before). Skied 85% of the way back to the truck, too. Boo. Yaa. Good, solid day indeed.
