Closing day with Renee and Matt, plus Alex and Ben briefly. Waxed skis work much better than non waxed! Motivation was a little low after skiing every rin the day before. Done by 12. Packed up the ski house, filled the car, ski season 2013 is done!
CP, Renee and Eric. Summer day, felt like 70 degrees at 10am. Desperately in need of wax. Only Summit Six and Roundhouse open. Skied "Waterfall" (which is actually a waterfall this year), a run I thought I'd never be able to do at the beginning of the season. Did a double day by mountain biking in the "back yard" in summer conditions. Fun evening at the Cottonwood after biking there via some amazing freeride trails.
Rode with Trevor and Jordie. Done by 1:30. Got spanked by the moguls under Sibera so tried them a couple of time until I worked it out. Last Pizza Bagel for the season for real this time :(
CP, Trevor, Jodie. Turned out to be a fun day. Great bump runs off Granite. Loving the new skis. Last day of Wildflower as they're not open closing weekend :(
Not quite a half day with Matt and Renee. 1" or 2" of fresh cement on ice. The soft snow from the day before had set up hard. Siberia was a nightmare, groomed stuff was okay but the snow was heavy. Sore legs, done by 12:30. Need to up the DIN, 7 is too low. Popped out of a ski on sticky snow.
First Bacon day with CP, Chris and Sarah Cooney and Bryan. Fun snow that was soft early, went to mash but never got too sticky. Realized at about 2pm that I'd done two groomers all day and the rest were moguls. Guess the new skis work.
Rolled out of bed, down to breakfast and out the door 20 ft to out lift. Mid week + Sugar Bowl is great! Started earlish as it didn't really freeze. Park session with CP, tips on how to pop, big air off the hip! Jumping on skis is a little easier than a snowboard, no need to correct dual axis of rotation. Done by 1:30 and off to Truckee to see gallery and get sandwich from Full Belly Deli. Yum.
Wedding tasting and organization with CP. Skied until 2:45, it was a crazy slush fest by the end. Love Sugar Bowl, sledging and laps on the Gondola in the evening. Highlight was following CP through the gully skiers left of Lincoln. Step it up a notch!
Demo ski day with CP and Alex. Tried 186cm Volkl Gotama which was amazing for how well it turns in that size. 177cm Nordica Hell and Backs, yuck. Line, Sir Francis Bacons in 177. I love you SFB's! Very slushy by 3pm. Fun in the 1/2 pipe.
Slow 1/2 day with CP, Trevor and a study break appearance from Stephanie. Very sore legs from the day before. Struggled to find corn, tried the half pipe and didn't die. Pizza Bagel FTW!
Chased David, CP, Marusa and Edward until we lost Marusa and Edward. David left at lunch then skied with Amy and Other Dave post lunch. Bell to bell! Scott Chair closed 30 seconds after we got off.
Skiiing Day 4 with Catherine, Steph, Renee and Teresa. Guess it was ladies day and I butted in! Turning much better, still look robotic in the videos. Tried some bumps..... more work needed there.
Free form thing doesn't work. Classic skied from Glacier point Hut back to Badger Pass with Catherine, Ashley, Sam, Andy, Mel and some other friends of Sam.
