Sunny, temps in the teens. Making snow all over the mountain. The '17 SLs out for their first turns of the season, and I forgot how lively and fun sharp SL skis can be. A full hour of ripping on Ralph's, dodging the snow guns and the soft, slightly sticky snow they were producing. Where the snow was hard, I skied great. Really solid turns that I was happy with. Where it was softer, I struggled a bit, as the SLs just sank and the snow caught in the bindings and boots and the rapid slowdown of the feet was a bit tough on both my balance and shins. As it became more churned up, I decided to call it a day.
