Day 1 of a 2 day preseason camp with the Q. A bunch of rain at the base last night - driving in was a challenge - but the snow line was about halfway up the mountain. I skied the mantras for the first time this year. Started the day with some laps off the Jet chair - fairly steep "groomers" with a few inches of fresh transitioning to rock hard ripply ice. Then, took a few runs on very moguly, churned up terrain off the Bonaventure chair for a while. Fun skiing, but tiring. After athletes went in for lunch, took a run with a few parents off the Flyer chair where the snow was simply fantastic - however, that run really wiped me out as I had to make a few recoveries and my quads just weren't having it. After lunch, took a run off the tram (completely socked in) and then made a few laps over on the Bonny chair and Taxi chair. Really fun day. Had an absolute blast. We'll try again tomorrow.
