Cloudy, temps in the mid 20s. One athlete for the U16 boys State Champs means I got to ski! Course sets were pretty straightforward, and the surfaces were ... interesting. A mix of super icy and nearly bottomless frozen sugar. Weird.
The snow all over was pretty mediocre - kind of early season death cookies over a frozen granular surface. Really not ideal. That said, we got a few really good runs and skied a lot after the race. Did a little exploring and found some areas with really fun terrain, if not good snow. Overall, pretty fun for the crowded NYC mess that is Stratton.
