Purgatory, CO

Flew down to Durango last night. Went up to Purgatory for a couple of hours in the AM before cake testing. Mostly cloudy, temps rising from the low 30s to the mid-40s around 11. Taking advantage of the free lift ticket included on the Loveland pass. Generally gave myself a mountain tour on the groomers - the ungroomed was still pretty frozen and rutty. Found my way to the backside, where the best groomers seemed to be off 3. Still, did a lap on 5 and a couple on 8 - some of the skiing over on 8 looked like it would be incredible if (1) the sun was out and (2) the snow was a bit softer. Still, ripped a lot of really good GS-y arcs today - really fun. The rolling terrain at Purgatory is just so fun - if a bit scary. Never know if you're going to roll over onto something and regret it ...
