Sunny, temps in the high 20s, very windy. GS race day on La Belle. I haven’t skied La Belle all year…oops. Course sets were good—not too tricky, decent swing, good distance, and the surface was excellent once we cleared off the fresh/windblown snow. First run I skied pretty well, but couldn’t get myself to just roll up down the pitch. Made a big mistake on the Hot Dog finish, ending up way wide and in the soft snow. Second run I was just tentative, more so than in the first run. No reason for it either, I was in good places and in balance, just throwing it sideways randomly. Oh well. Ended up 4th on the day (4th both runs), which is a good GS result from me for sure. Corey just skied awesome, he won by a lot, but given my mistakes, I’m ok with it. I really need to ski more GS. Super fun day though. Really a good time.
