Sunny, temps rising to the low 40s. FIS SL day.
They ran everyone on the same course to get us done quicker. Not ideal for ruts, but it held up okay. I was skiing well in the warmup on the 24SLs, but decided to race R1 on the 22SLs since the top flat was so turny.
I did ski the top flat well, but the pitch was brutal. Couldn’t get the ski tracking in the ruts and I didn’t have any power.
2nd run, even though it was also super turny, went with the 24SLs. Really happy with how I skied the top, and was way more aggressive on the pitch, even though I still made big mistakes. Have to stay square with the shoulders down the hill. Good fight though, proud of that if not the skiing generally.
8 1st, 5 2nd, 8 overall. Less than 1.5 out of 3rd, which hurts a little.
