Ski Sundown, Connecticut
Tuesday, December 24, 2019
Mostly sunny, temps rising from the low 30s to the low 40s. About 3 hours of SL freeski on the '18 SLs. Met up with some classic Sundown folks and generally had a good time. Skied generally pretty well, making mostly glalom-type turns all over the mountain. Best snow was on Canyon and on the bottom part of Noreaster. Noreaster definitely the most fun, as there were still the remnants of some snowmaking whales there that were really fun to absorb and play with.
Overall though, snow was pretty marginal. Really chunky - almost like softer death cookies everywhere. Really hard to get good purchase and really feel confident about what the skis were going to do. Gunbarrel was especially terrible on that front.
That said, really fun day. Had a great time ripping around.
