Leavitt Lake Road had recently been popped, so my buddy Stev and I made the trek out there with his two dogs, Makisha and Penny. The road was better than it has been in years (obviously the Marines had been out there and graded it). The snow, while plentiful, however, was not in such good shape: Sun Cup Jones was in full effect. Top it off with a brisk (i.e. cold) wind, and things were mildly interesting, to say the least. I bagged 5 runs, but found myself cold, disgruntled, and not altogether the Sunny Jim I usually am. Still, it was an adventure in the vein of "A shitty day of skiing is still better than a day at the office" variety.
