Wasn't sure what to expect after the previous day's less than spectacular conditions. Stev and I left the dogs at home, which boosted the potential for the day a bit. The road to Highland Lakes had recently been popped (you should be detecting a theme here) and it was pretty damn smooth (a dude in a Honda Civic made it all the way to the lakes!). Ditto for the snow we encountered. I pulled a Nigel Tufnel and bagged 11 runs for the day. The snow on the first run was a wee bit firm, but things softened up as the day progressed and we scored some sweet pitches and creamy corn. The weather was brisk (i.e. a bit chilly), but nowhere near as cold as the previous day; we still had some persistent wind, though.
