First night league GS of the year. Temps near 30, clear skies. Sets were relatively turny, and the snow was perfect. The track was poorly maintained, and it got a bit rutty by the time I got to go. Typical first day high attendance and issues with other stuff.
First run, I overskied a bit, but was generally on it and was pretty respectable. Second run, I messed up the skating out of the start and fought it most of the way down. At the end of the flats, I leaned in and got back on my skis and had to throw them sideways. That was the faster course, and I probably threw away a full second with that mistake.
Ended up 15 overall, which isn't terrible, but I was a bit bummed. Still, a decent way to start the year.
